JANE ANN (JOHNSON) FREITAG
Canton, Ill.
Jane Ann (Johnson) Freitag, 61, of Canton, Ill., died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.
She was born May 23, 1960, in Independence, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Marilyn Reagan Johnson. She married Kim Freitag on Aug. 9, 2008, in Canton. He survives.
She is also survived by her parents of Swisher, Iowa; son, Dan Johnson of Canton; three stepdaughters, Bethany Potthoff (husband Mike) and their children, Graham and Griffin Potthoff, all of Springfield, Brynn Rodriguez (husband Mike) and their children, Rose and Anders Rodriguez, all of North Hollywood, Calif., and Breanna Herink (husband Joe) and their child, Ealin Herink, all of Fishers, Ind.; one brother, Doug Johnson (wife Cheri) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
Jane was a graduate of Cedar Rapids Prairie High School. She worked for CEFCU in many capacities until July 2021. She was of the Lutheran faith. Jane enjoyed the outdoors. She loved to hunt, fish and camp. She enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Virginia with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. The family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 protocols, masks are required indoors. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Virginia BBQ Committee or the Humane Society of Fulton County. Condolence may be left online at buchanancody.com.
