Matthew George Whitmore Neyens, 28, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, Aug. 27, 2021. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with visitation to begin one hour prior.
Matthew was born March 25, 1993, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Brad and Rachel (Whitmore) Neyens. He graduated from Jefferson High School and was employed at Whirlpool.
Survivors include his parents, Rachel and Brad Neyens; brother, Brandon Neyens; grandparents, Peggy Neyens and Phil Neyens; aunts, Becky (Dale) Schirmer, Abby Whitmore and Sue (Todd) Rizzo; uncle, James (Elizabeth) Bixby; and many cousins and friends.
Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marilyn Morse and John Whitmore; and great-grandparents, Rachel Heneks, Leona Findley and Stan Findley.
