DOUGLAS ALAN GINSBERG
Coralville
Douglas Alan Ginsberg, 60, of Iowa City, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 26, 2021.
Doug was known to many as the Jeweler at MC Ginsberg Jewelry for nearly four decades. But he was known to all as a kindhearted soul with a childlike demeanor. He filled every room with laughter and our hearts and minds hold memories of him we will carry for lifetimes. His passing leaves a hole in our hearts that can never be replaced.
Doug was passionate about everything he did. He was a caring father, son, brother, husband and friend. Megan and Louis were lucky enough to call him "Dad" and that was his favorite role of all. He found joy in everything he did but none more than when he became a father. He just liked making them laugh, letting them be kids. He carried that love of fun and silliness through his life.
Doug was preceded in death by his father, Louis Ginsberg; his son, also Louis Ginsberg; and all of his grandparents.
He is survived by his daughter, Megan Ginsberg; his mother, Harriet Ginsberg; his siblings, Mark (Vickie) and John Ginsberg, Lisa (Randy) Lane and Lynne Ginsberg; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. The entire family misses him deeply.
Private memorial services will be held with family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Friends of the Animal Center Foundation www.facf.org; or the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital c/o University of Iowa Center for Advancement, 1 West Park Rd., Iowa City, IA 52242.
