PAUL NOVAK
Swisher
Paul Novak passed away
in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Aug. 26, 2021. A Celebration
of Life will be at a later date. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids are in charge of arrangements.
Born on June 12, 1941, he lived in the Cedar Rapids/Swisher area. He worked at Novak Heating & Air Conditioning most of his adult life. Paul enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends. He often went to Canada for fishing, to Mexico to relax and scuba dive, and later in life to Florida where he would spend his winters with Jean and his good friends, Arland and Jerene. His perfect days were spent fishing with Arland, a book by the pool and happy hour with his friends from Florida. When he was not in Florida, he loved to have coffee with his buddy Dick, where they solved many world problems.
Most would call him funny and sarcastic. Paul had a great sense of humor, was always up for a prank or getting enjoyment from teasing a grandkid.
Paul is survived by three sons, Randy (Donna), Rick (Tracy) and Rob (Sarah), and one daughter, Paula (Brian), all of Cedar Rapids.
He loved his five grandchildren, Shelby Kubik (Sean), Dylan Ironside, Jenna Novak, Maxx Novak and Gunner Novak; and one great-grandchild, Kennedy Kubik. In addition, he is survived by Melissa Beastrom (Julie), who is always considered a family member and close friend. He is also survived by his two sisters, Therese Thenhaus and Carol Oehler (Chuck).
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jean; his parents, Godfrey and Julia Novak; and his brother, Gary Novak. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Duane Thenhaus.
