The Marion Public Library announced a mask mandate for its location, starting Monday.
“As COVID-19 infection rates across the state continue to increase, the Marion Public Library will be requiring masks for anyone ages 2+ regardless of vaccination status,” according to a Friday news release.
Masks will be required at the library’s Uptown Marion location as well as the MPL Tech Station.
“The Library Board of Trustees and Library Leadership team will continue to assess the COVID-19 impact in Linn County weekly and provide updates through email, social media and marionpubliclibrary.org,” the release said.
While the library is establishing a mask mandate, the city of Marion only recommends masks in its public buildings, such as City Hall.
