Eldo W. Schornhorst, 94,
of Iowa City, died Aug. 22, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics surrounded by family.
He is survived by his wife of almost 73 years, Shirley DaMaris (Dee); son, Steven (Doris); and daughter, Joyce Edfors (Thomas); three grandchildren, Jennifer Winegarden (Mat), Matthew Schornhorst (Beth) and Anna White (Neil); great-grandchildren, Christopher Winegarden, Mya Winegarden, Isabella Dix, Austin Schornhorst, Elle Schornhorst, Audrey White and Conor White; brother-in-law, Wendell (Diane) Kruse; a niece and nephews; and other special friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Eldo Sr. and Mildred (Krefft) Schornhorst; and sister, Florene Schornhorst.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City, where the family will greet guests an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Harlington Cemetery in Waverly, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to The Arc of SE Iowa, Shelter House or Zion Lutheran Church.
