Lillian Marie Loomis, 87, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, in the Overlooks section of Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family with arrangements.
Lillian was born Dec. 18, 1933, in New Albin, Iowa, to Edwin and Mary "Colletta" (Glaser) Meyer. She was united in marriage to Ernest Loomis on Sept. 12, 1953, in New Albin. To this union, four children were born.
Lillian had previously worked for Turner Microphone for 14 years, and later worked side-by-side with her husband at Iowa Glass. Lillian enjoyed gardening, embroidery and spending time with her husband and family.
She is survived by her children, Robert "Bob" (Denise) Loomis of Knapp, Wis., Gloria "Babe" (Marty) Myers, and Jerry (Joyce) Loomis, all of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and brother, Ralph (Jane) Meyer of New Albin.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest; daughter, Gayle Szyperski; and sisters, Lois Duffy and Lorrayne Davis.
