Cameron "Cam" James Bunch, 19, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel Stateroom. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Inurnment immediately following.
Cameron was born Oct. 9, 2001, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Rod and Wendy (Johnson) Bunch. He graduated from Marion High School in 2020. While there, he ran cross country, was a member of the soccer team, and was the proud captain of the bowling team his senior year. He was enrolled at Kirkwood Community College as a computer science major. He was employed with FBG Service Corp.
Cameron was an avid gamer. He was one of the best Rocket League players in the Midwest, winning the Open LAN Tournament in 2019. He also enjoyed family game nights and the yearly fishing trips to the boundary waters.
Cameron will always be remembered for his gentle nature and kindness towards others. Though he will be missed dearly he is now without pain and resting in God's arms.
Left to cherish Cameron's memory are his parents, Rod and Wendy; siblings, Landon and Natalie; grandparents, Ron and Pat Bunch, Virginia Bunch and Art and Ida Johnson; aunts and uncles, Jeff (Nicole) Johnson, Stacy Johnson, Diane (Nick) Boen and Dave (Lynnaya) Bunch; and cousins, Abby, Nate, and Mitch Johnson, Avery and Riley Boen, and Lindsay, Chloe, Ryder and Sophia Bunch.
Cameron was preceded in death by his cousin, Alex Johnson.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family, where they will then be used to advocate for mental illness and awareness in honor of Cameron.
