Philip "Phil" L. Stambaugh, 73, of Marion, Iowa, passed away Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and services will not be held. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Phil was born June 3, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Lowell and Mary (Szczepan) Stambaugh. He graduated from Springville High School and went on to attend the University of Iowa, receiving his bachelor's degree in business. Phil's passion for the automobile industry began at a young age in the family business, Stambaugh Motors, and continued throughout his career and into retirement. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Phil is survived and lovingly remembered by his two children, Randy (Jana) Stambaugh of Boone, Iowa, and Heidi (Michael) Bernet of Sacramento, Calif.; three grandchildren, Ava, Joshua and Mia, all of Sacramento; brother, Jerry (CJ) Stambaugh of Mason City, Iowa; two nephews, Mark and Max; niece, Lauren; longtime companion, Carolyn Moeller; and her daughters, Lori and Kris.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Mary Stambaugh.
