A man and a woman were injured over the weekend when the motorcycle they were riding on collided with a Jeep in Fairfax.
According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called just before 10 a.m. Saturday to a wreck with injuries on Highway 151 at 80th Street in Fairfax.
The sheriff’s office said Jeremy Hynek of Fairfax was riding a 2018 Harley-Davidson Street Glide motorcycle north on Highway 151 when it was struck by a 2010 Jeep Liberty that was headed west on 80th Street.
Deputies said the Jeep was driven by Mitchell St. Andrews of Palo.
The sheriff’s office said Hynek and passenger, Amy Matthiesen of Urbana, were transported to hospitals for treatment. Neither was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, deputies said.
St. Andrews was not injured. He was cited for failure to stop and yield at a stop sign, the sheriff’s office said.
