New hires
Dr. Ali Saeed joined Mercy Pulmonology Clinic as a pulmonologist and critical care physician.
The Acterra Group hired Craig Merchant as a project manager and estimator with the electrical staff, based in Marion.
Tyler Carlson joined Iowa Realty as an agent in the Iowa Realty-Cedar Rapids downtown office.
Promotions
The Cedar Rapids Fire Department promoted Stephen Mast from Shift Captain to Administrative District Chief-Assistant Fire Marshal. Mast has been with the CRFD since 2007.
Board members
Horizons-A Family Service Alliance board of directors named Angie Hoover, Rayser Holdings, as chairwoman; Quinn Pettifer, The Gazette, as vice chairwoman; Jorel Robinson, Big Bang Foundation, as secretary; Kelly Edmonds, Merit Construction, as treasurer of the board of directors at Horizons.
Added to the board were Alissa Carson, United Fire Group; Casey Greene, UnityPoint Health Cedar Rapids; Lisa Strait, Collins Community Credit Union; and Caleb Woods, Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance.
Awards
Per Mar Security Services received the Five Diamond Certification from the Monitoring Association signifying Per Mar has demonstrated an exceptionally high degree of responsibility to its community and customers through investment in quality operator training.
Programs
Cottage Grove Place and Alzheimer’s Association of Iowa will present monthly programs related to Alzheimer’s disease, held at 2 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Sedlacek Hall, Cottage Grove Place, 2115 First Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids. An informational session on Aducanumab, a new treatment for early-stage Alzheimer’s disease, will be this Tuesday. Reservations are required by calling (319) 896-5780.
Events and panels
The ICR Transportation and Logistics Sector's Rollin’ Rally will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, at Kirkwood Continuing Education Training Center, 101 50th Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids. Presented by Thompson Truck and Trailer, it is designed to give children and adults a firsthand experience with the transportation industry with vehicles and equipment on-site.
