Tipton girls medley relay repeat as state champs in Class 2A

Tipton High School track athlete, Noelle Steines, earns her fourth career state title in the 3000-meter at the Iowa High School State Track & Field Championship

They spent their summer days, winter mornings and spring evenings working on their golf games and the Solon Spartans have parlayed it into another successful golf season.

Individuals and teams have earned berths to the Iowa High School Athletic Association state golf tournaments May 27 and 28. The Class 3A meet will be at Cedar Falls, while 2A and 1A will be in Waterloo.

State-qualifying track and field meets are Thursday, with 24 advancing in each event to next week’s state meet in Des Moines. Here are eight area teams that bear close watch.
