Sharryon Nicholson, 70, of Cedar Rapids was peacefully called home on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021. Surviving are her four children; Amy Dutton-Marquez (Elias) of Desoto, Texas, Travis Dutton Sr. of Cedar Rapids, Alan (Justine) Munger of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Stacey Cook of Cedar Rapids.
Survivors also include her 10 beloved grandchildren; Alexandria (Mark) Reierson, Clay (Hailey) Scott, Lyric Dutton, Brooklyn Claassen, Travis (TJ) Dutton Jr., Jackobi (Kobi) Dutton, Talon Munger, Vladalan Munger, Kaia Cook-Munger and Ezekiel Cook-Haakenson; and a very special cousin Doralee (Dee) Nicholson-Bridgeman of San Antonio, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Lois Nicholson, both of Clayton, N.M.
Sharryon was born Aug. 25, 1950, to Earl and Lois (Barnes) Nicholson in Clayton, N.M. She relocated to Cedar Rapids in the late 70s, where she would remain and raise her children. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, who were the light and joy of her life.
She loved to read, crochet and make arts and crafts, but above all she cherished the time she had with her babies, including her dog Brewster. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
A celebration of life/birthday party will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Horseshoe Pavillion, Ellis Park in Cedar Rapids. Please join us for snacks, refreshments and a balloon release at sunset.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff at Mercy Hopital, Dr. Kenneth Cearlock, and Brosh Chapel.
