North Linn hit 64 percent of its shots (71 percent in the first half) and outgunned Newell-Fonda in the Class 1A girls’ state basketball championship game, 67-51.

Top-ranked North Linn spun No. 9 Montezuma around in the first half and coasted to a 68-38 Class 1A quarterfinal victory at the girls’ state basketball tournament Wednesday afternoon at Wells Fargo Arena.

North Linn ambushed Edgewood-Colesburg with a 24-2 second-quafter run and advanced to its sixth consecutive girls’ state basketball tournament with a 66-34 win in a Class 1A regional final.
