Kyle Pedretti made an appearance at the Doug Guilford Invitational. I briefly said hi and asked how things are going at Upper Iowa. The two-time state champ for MFL MarMac said he was doing well and his record was 9-1 at that time. He won the 125-pound brackets at Dubuque's Jim Fox Open and the Pointer Open hosted by UW-Stevens Point. Pedretti always wrestled hard and seemed to have more doubters than anyone. I guess the only one that needed to believe did and that was him. He seemed to be happy with how UIU was working out. I expect to see more from him in the future. Only question is whether his beloved Pedretti Pirates (his fan club in high school) exist in college.Speaking of MFL, Coach Chet Bachman has a few former Bulldogs in the college ranks. Pedretti joined former teammate, Travis Eggers, in Fayette. Eggers, a state champ for MFL, has been a regular for the Peacocks, wrestling at 157 pounds and ranked #7 in NCAA Division II.Steve Crozier, who was a high school teammate of both, is currently a wrestler for the Air Force Academy.
