City Hall's Used Cars open for business: 3 cop cars, pickup with animal cages among hottest of 11 deals

The city of Cedar Rapids is unloading 11 used vehicles, some recapped tires and a backyard golf game called Birdie Ball.
The sales are underway on GovDeals.com, the eBay-like online auction for government property that the city has used for a few years now.

The bidding closes on May 2.
Three Ford Crown Victoria police cruisers are the hot items to date. Two of the three are 2005 models; one is a 2003. All have mileages in the 80,000s.
As of late Monday afternoon, one of the Crown Vics had 10 bids with the high bid price at $1,550; one had 13 bids, with the high bid price at $2,250; and one had 19 bids, with the high bid price of $3,553.
The 2001 pickup with the Animal Control operation's cages on it has had 12 bids to date, and the high bid stood at $800 by late Monday afternoon.
Among the vehicles is a 1998 Ford Escort, a parking meter enforcement vehicle that has one bid of $300 to date. Mileage is 58,052. It is described this way: "This vehicle starts, runs, (is) drivable."
