There was no escaping Christmas at the Loeffelholz home in Clinton, Iowa, on December 17, 1984. Karen and Harold Loeffelholz decorated every inch of the recreation room in their 110-year-old house. The display, which started out on a small scale 19 years before, sported 2,000 assorted lights by the mid-1980s.
