From the Masters: For Zach, 80 and gone
Mike Hlas Apr. 10, 2009 3:06 pm
AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Zach Johnson shot an 8-over-par 80 Friday in the second round of the Masters, missing the 36-hole cut with a 6-over total of 150.
"I hit it bad and putted it bad," Johnson said. "I hit it bad and putted it bad. I hit it bad and putted it bad."
It is Johnson's first missed cut in his last four Masters. He won the event in 2007.
I'll have a more-detailed report later in the day, as well as other items from today's second-round. Such as amateur Jack Newman of Des Moines shooting a second-round 76 to miss the cut, but with a very respectable 4-over 148 for a 21-year-old.
