Neither the University of Wisconsin nor the University of Iowa have released an official announcement about current the Hawkeyes wrestling program's strength and condition coach Jared Frayer.Media outlets quoted Frayer as accepting a position as a full-time assistant with the Badgers and head coach Barry Davis, a former three-time national champion. A source close to the Iowa program confirmed that he had accepted a position and had met with members of the team to inform them of his decision. The source called the reaction amicable and that the offer was too good to pass up, noting it could come with a pay raise that might double his current salary. He would fill a position left vacant with long-time Badger assistant and former Hawkeye Bart Chelesvig resigned in May after 16 seasons. Frayer is expected to replace Donny Pritzlaff, who replaced Chelesvig as Davis' top assistant.Iowa coach Tom Brands declined comment on the matter.Frayer joined the Hawkeyes' staff last year. He was a two-time all-American, four-time national qualifier and an NCAA runner at 149 pounds in 2002 for the University of Oklahoma.Below is a link to an article where Frayer comments on the offer:
