Tipton Motel Benefit Day for Paul Beatty

Coordinators of the Tipton Motel Benefit Day - a fundraiser for Paul Beatty, the father of University of Iowa wrestler Chad Beatty - has released a schedule of events for the day-long event set for Aug. 15. Activities range from running to horseshoes.

8 a.m.: H.A.W.K. 5k - Sponsors - Tipton Motel, Family Foods, Junction Auto

 11 a.m.: Hoover Ball Tourn. - Sponsor - Hawkeye Wrestling Club 

11 a.m.: Horseshoe Pitching Tourn. - Sponsor - Hawkeye Wrestling Club

 11 a.m.: Bean Bag Toss Tourn. 

Noon - 4 p.m.: Car Show and Shine - Sponsor - Junction Auto 

Noon: Kids Games (Softball & Football Accuracy, Tug of War, Takedowns & Races - 1 mile for 14 & under, 1/2 mile for 10 & under, 1/4 mile for 5 & under) - Sponsor - Cedar Ridge Dental 

Noon: Lunch (butterfly chop, potato salad, baked beans & drink) - Sponsor Mike Denkman 

2 p.m.: Takedowns - Sponsor - Challis Enterprises 

2 p.m.: Tug of War - Sponsor - Scott Morningstar, Lisbon Insurance 

6 - 8 p.m.: Concert featuring Janelle Lauer (Lincoln, Stanwood Graduate), w/surprise appearances - sponsor - Liberty Trust & Savings Bank There will be Kettele Korn and refreshments for sale and available all day. Entry fees for each event are yet to be determined. Event coordinators will provide the information soon. There is a need for volunteers to monitor these tournaments as the day progresses.
