From Taco Tico to Tom Thumb, and all points in between, the message boards throughout Fort Dodge have the same statement.Welcome.Seriously, you drive through town, and there are probably 20 signs welcoming the teams and fans to the state softball. A pair of city businesses have rented space on giant reddish-pink billboards, with the IGHSAU logo.No city is as accommodating to its visitors during a state tournament. Certainly not Des Moines. Not Muscatine. And, no, not Cedar Rapids.From the folks at The Messenger to the staff with the Parks and Recreation Department, Fort Dodge does it right.
