NEWHALL, IA - A service of praise celebrating marriage and family will mark the 50th wedding anniversary of Rev. Lawrence and Mabel Schmidt on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall.
The former Mabel Haerther and Lawrence Schmidt exchanged marriage vows on August 2, 1959 at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins, IA.
Hosting this event will be their family of three daughters and six grandchildren: Lisa Schmidt of Cedar Rapids; Gretchen (David) Brouch, and daughters, Madalyn, Isabel, and Allison of Naperville, IL; Julie (Craig) Dueker, and sons, Ryan, Joshua, and Zachary of West Des Moines, IA.
