More than 400 St. Luke's Hospital volunteers are teaming with Habitat for Humanity to complete work on homes to help in flood recovery.
The effort is part of the Build-A-Thon that was kicked off by Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner in June. The goal is to build 20 homes in Cedar Rapids.
St. Luke's employees, volunteers and others, including vice-presidents, are participating through the hospital foundation's ‘We Care. We Build.' project.
Building days will be Tuesday, Aug. 18, through Saturday, Aug. 22, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at two sites. One St. Luke's employee will be living in one of the homes being constructed with her two sons.
This drawing shows what Habitat for Humanity homes will look like that will be built in Cedar Rapids by volunteers in a Habitat Buildathon.
