Loebsack impressive at health care meeting

I was impressed by Congressman Dave Loebsack's handling of the health care reform town hall meeting at Kirkwood Community College. The meeting was so well attended I couldn't get into the room, but from the stairwell could hear that Dave was very much the person we elected: calm, reasoned, respectful, patient, and willing to hear opinions other than his own, while holding on to his own principles.
Loebsack made clear that we can't afford not to reform health care, and indicated his willingness to work with and listen to people who have different ideas of how to solve health care problems. I was glad to hear of his support for a public option. It makes sense to me as a way to keep the insurance company bureaucrats honest by forcing them to compete. As the health care discussion continues, Loebsack has my support.
