Swanson would focus on Kirkwood student body

Cedar Rapids people are aware of what a wonderful asset Kirkwood Community College is to the community. But unless they've been a student or worked at Kirkwood, I'd guess most people aren't aware of all the services Kirkwood provides to the people in this area.

Leading Kirkwood are the elected trustees - nine people from all parts of the seven-county area. These trustees are responsible for the large college budgets, policy decisions and long-term direction of the college.

I believe that the focus of the trustees should be the student. That is why I am voting for John Swanson. John worked at Kirkwood for 15 years and has extensive experience as a business leader and a long, long list of community leadership positions. But most importantly, John will, I believe, focus on Kirkwood students in all his board decisions.
