Armstrong a strong candidate for I.C. board

I am endorsing April Armstrong as a candidate for the Iowa City school board. April is a proponent of a third comprehensive high school, a districtwide review of boundaries, and a single comprehensive plan for redistricting. These issues concern me as my child's freshman class is projected to be the first affected by high school over-enrollment. April is committed to dealing with growth and change, recognizing the need to balance the budget and to make operation of the third high school fiscally reasonable and sustainable.
April wants to include stakeholders and people representing diverse community interests in the planning and transition to open the third comprehensive high school. She sees this as an opportunity for collaboration.
April has been involved in volunteer roles related to her children's schools and serving the district. She is concerned about student achievement districtwide and equal opportunities for all of our students.
