Money for Sutliff Bridge is an unwise investment

Are you saying $1.4 million to rebuild Sutliff Bridge? As to its use as a tourist destination, what is wrong with its present condition for that purpose? Doesn't everyone know there is a safe bridge just a short distance from the old one?
A better use for a portion of that money would be Butler Bridge, where the approaches are bowed to the point that the traffic is lobbed onto the bridge. And how long can or will those support beams underneath stand that punishment?
