Lisbon’s actions over H1N1 deserve praise

As a parent of two children in the Lisbon school system and a member of the school board, I tip my hat to the administrative team for the precautionary position they took Monday. The administration took the word of a parent that a child had a confirmed case of H1N1. Curtis Dickson of Linn County Public Health said on KCRG-TV9 that “Lisbon jumped the gun.”
Nobody in the district was panic stricken and chaos did not ensue. Lisbon did not “jump the gun.” The administration was proactive and had the best interest of the children when making the announcement.
This just shows Lisbon was prepared for this type of situation, and as a parent I'm elated they erred on the side of caution.
