IOWA CITY HIGH at C.R. XAVIER
- Time & place: 7:15 p.m., at Saints Field
- Records: City High is 2-0; Xavier is 1-1
- Notable: City High looked every bit like the No. 1 team it is ranked, racking up 617 yards of total offense and ripping Cedar Rapids Washington, 65-21, last week. The Little Hawks face a defense that has allowed only 14 points in two games. Jordan Ellis has rushed for 283 yards while QB A.J. Derby has passed for four TDs and rushed for four more. Xavier QB Joe Sayre has passed for 341 yards.
C.R. KENNEDY at IOWA CITY WEST
- Time & place: 7:15 p.m., at Trojan Field, Iowa City
- Records: Kennedy is 1-1; West is 1-1
- Notable: West snapped an 11-game losing streak by knocking off then-No. 10 Waterloo West. Sophomore QB Charles Rogers rushed 14 times for 189 yards. Kennedy scored the final 49 points in a 56-14 pasting of Cedar Rapids Jefferson. Royce Bell rushed for 177 yards on seven carries and scored two touchdowns.
CEDAR FALLS at C.R. JEFFERSON

- Records: Cedar Falls is 1-1; Jefferson is 0-2
- Notable: After suffering lopsided losses in the first two weeks (they've been outscored 84-14 by Cedar Rapids Xavier and Cedar Rapids Kennedy), it gets no easier for the J-Hawks tonight. Cedar Falls rebounded from a Week 1 loss by thrashing Waterloo East. Jefferson's Tanner Unkel has rushed for 156 yards on 21 carries.
MARION at DEWITT CENTRAL

- Records: Marion is 2-0 overall, 0-0 3A-4; Central is 2-0, 0-0
- Notable: It's only the first week of the district season, but this game will go a long way toward determining the 3A District 4 champion. Marion's Logan Pickering has scored eight touchdowns.
DECORAH at NEW HAMPTON

- Records: Decorah is 2-0 overall, 0-0 3A-3; New Hampton is 0-2, 0-0
- Notable: Decorah begins defense of its district title against a team that figures to be its chief challenger, despite its 0-2 start. Decorah has been a run-oriented outfit behind Robbie Jewell (212 yards, 2 TDs).
IOWA CITY REGINA at CAMANCHE

- Records: Regina is 2-0 overall, 0-0 2A-5; Camanche is 0-2, 0-0
- Notable: Regina has relied on a stiff defense (allowing 5 points per game) and a balanced offense (160 yards per game rushing, 141 passing) in a pair of wins over 3A foes. Camanche has lost 29 straight games.
