Obama’s message rings true with teacher

Jennifer Hemmingsen's Sept. 9 column titled “Panic was overblown on Obama speech” was right on target. I have been a teacher from every level from seventh grade through college.
I wish I would have given President Barack Obama's speech about individual responsibility, working hard, studying and doing your homework to all my students. From my experiences in education, I'm one who knows this is right.
