1) Atkins Telephone Co., Atkins: Seeking $2.178 million grant and loan for last-mile FTTP (fiber-to-the-premises) project in non-remote area.
2) Local Internet Service Co. (LISCO) Fairfield, $23.1 million grand and $46.9 million loan request for last-mile project to further expand high-speed broadband into rural communities of southeast Iowa using wireless and fiber to the premises.
3) Hawkeye Telephone Co., Hawkeye: $1.6 million grant request to construct a broadband fiber optical network, replacing the last mile of a deteriorating copper cable network.
4) Evertek Inc., Everly: Seeking $798,596 grant for Educational broadband for the Betterment of Iowa program, which will increase broadband awareness, education and availability to low-income Iowans, Iowans with limited credit access, and Iowans needing education in broadband technologies.
5) Iowa Telecommunications Services Inc, Newton: Seeking $6.85 million in grants for 11 projects, including interoffice fiber optics facilities between Coggon and Walker, and between Lowden and Stanwood, and nine last mile projects to five unserved and four underserved communities.
6) Iowa Communications networks: Two grant requests totaling $22.3 million to upgrade the ICN video conferencing network to an industry-compatible platform, and for a 1G symmetrical Ethernet access network for 1,030 community anchor institutions, including hospitals, libraries, and schools).
7) Goldfield Telephone Co., Goldfield: Seeking $5.2 million grand and $7.2 million loan to deploy fiber to all houses and businesses in Goldfield, Renwick and Clarion.
8) Eastlight LLC, Fairfield: Seeking $3.8 million loan for the SE Iowa Rural Wireless Broadband project to serve over 80 small, rural communities with high-speed, affordable Internet.
9) Iowa Health System Inc., Des Moines: Seeking $12.9 million grant for a project to extend high-capacity network access to underserved health care providers and create a foundation for extension of health care service directly to patients.
10) F&B Communications Inc., Wheatland. Seeking $1.6 million grant and loan to provide high speed Internet, digital television and voice services via a fiber optics network in Bennett, Delmar and Lowden.
11) C-M-L Telephone Cooperative Association, Meriden: Seeking $1.5 million grant to provide last-mile fiber-based Internet, digital television and telephone service to Archer, Meriden and other rural Iowa communities.
12) Shellsburg Cablevision Inc., Shellsburg: Seeking $1.5 million to provide high-speed Internet service, digital television and telephone service via fiber optics network to Archer and Meriden.
13) Davenport Public Library, Davenport: Seeking $207,140 to create space at the main library for a high-tech computer center for job-seekers, adult learners, and minority and disadvantaged business owners.
14) Iowa Wireless Inc., Polk County: Seeking $21.2 million grant and $22 million loan to provide broadband wireless service in 14 rural counties in southwest Iowa using advanced HSPA broadband technology.
15) City of Davenport, Davenport: Seeking $12.5 million grant to improve broadband services to public safety agencies, schools, hospitals and community neighborhoods by deploying broadband wireless access to mobile and fixed users.
16) Long Lines Wireless LLC, Sergeant Bluff: Seeking $32.7 million grant to upgrade and expand existing wireless and fiber networks to provide high speed HSPA+ broadband services to rural, underserved residents, businesses, public agencies and community facilities in northwest Iowa.
17) Cedar Falls Utilities, Cedar Falls: Seeking $1.4 million grant to extend availability, affordability and speed of broadband services within population centers of Black Hawk County, Grundy County and Butler County by extending existing broadband systems serving Cedar Falls.
18) Phalanx Technology Holdings LLC (FireSTORM), Cedar Rapids. Seeking $139 million in grants and loans to Internet-based television, voice, and data service to 19 communities in Eastern Iowa through fiber-to-the-home network. Communities would include Fairfax, Walford, Marengo, Mount Vernon, Lisbon, Ely, Tipton, DeWitt, Anamosa, Monticello, Maquoketa, Vinton, Walker, Center Point, robins, Central City, Ryan, Manchester, Dyersville and Epworth. Portions of routes would be donated or sold back to local public safety networks.
19) La Motte Telephone Co., La Motte: Seeking $187,815 to provide wireless broadband service to as many as 324 households in Springbrook and the surrounding area using Wi-Max wireless technology via a 300-foot tower.
