Benton Community rallied from a 12-7 halftime deficit to down DeWitt Central, 20-12 last night in Van Horne.Zach Tweedt completed 7-for-11 passes for 111 yards, including a 35-yard touchdown to Mitch Lester. Tweedt also had 28 carries for 92 yards and a touchdown on the ground.Mark Himmelsbach had 14 carries for 102 yards rushing including a 29-yard touchdown for the Bobcats (3-2, 2-1 3A-4).
CENTER POINT-URBANA 31, TIPTON 12 - Dylan Ramsey had 16 carries for 89 yards and four touchdowns for host Center Point-Urbana (4-1, 3-0 2A-5).
WEST BRANCH 34, BELLE PLAINE 12 - At Belle Plaine, West Branch's Cole Kelly carried the ball 12 times for 158 yards and a touchdown, Jason Madsen ran for three scores, and Rylan Carew returned an interception 55 yards for a TD in a Class 1A District 5 matchup. The Class 1A No. 4 Bears improve to 5-0 overall, 3-0 in the district, while Belle Plaine falls to 3-2 (1-2 1A-5).
EAST BUCHANAN 33, DON BOSCO 6 - Jordan Gerbracht ran for 198 yards and two touchdowns, returned a punt 55 yards for a TD and threw a 9-yard scoring pass to David Monaghan as the Buccaneers picked up a Class A District 4 win at home. Taylor Connolly added 110 yards on 20 carries and a 34-yard TD for East Buchanan (3-2, 2-1 A-4).
WAPSIE VALLEY 42, LISBON 15 - Michael Rathe had 19 rushes for 162 yards and three touchdowns while Jacob Wenger had 14 rushes for 116 yards and three scores for host Wapsie Valley (3-1).Cody Rickard connected with Mitch Montgomery for a 68-yard touchdown pass for Lisbon and the Lions defense scored a safety.
ELKADER CENTRAL 51, MIDLAND 26 - Tyler Sylvester went 7-for-7 passing for 145 yards and three TDs while Zach Tade had six rushes for 122 yards and four touchdowns for host Elkader Central (5-0).
HLV 12, MONTEZUMA 0 - Preston Warnick ran for 100 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown and Dillon McClenathan had 13 tackles (7 solo) and a tackle-for-loss to lead the Warriors to the home victory.
GLADBROOK-REINBECK 21, APLINGTON-PARKERSBURG 20 - After seeing Class 1A No. 3 Aplington-Parkersburg fail to convert a PAT following a second-half touchdown, Gladbrook-Reinbeck converted the PAT on a Zach Schwartz 3-yard TD run with eight minutes to play to provide the final margin in a Class 1A District 3 tilt at Gladbrook.
PRESTON 43, SPRINGVILLE 0 - Kyle Feller had 15 carries for 109 yards while Jason Fedderson went 6-for-10 for 128 yards passing and one touchdown. He also had nine carries for 30 yards and two rushing touchdowns for visiting Preston. Noel Nissen had11 carries for 70 yards for Springville (2-3).
NORTH LINN 42, ALBURNETT 7 - North Linn's Jordan Glessner had 123 yards on 11 carries and touchdowns of 3, 2, and 20 yards, while Matt Supple added four receptions for 98 yards and two scores (24, 28) to lead the Lynx (3-2, 2-1 1A-4).
CLAYTON RIDGE 26, STARMONT 0 - Jordan Davis carried the ball 27 times for 190 yards and a 15-yard touchdown run to lead Clayton Ridge (4-1, 3-0 1A-4) at home. Logan Keehner added a touchdown run and a touchdown catch for the Eagles.
WESTERN DUBUQUE 34, INDEPENDENCE 13 - Nick Elsinger had 20 carries for 87 yards rushing while Matt Cass went 7-for-9 for 95 yards passing and three touchdowns and Nick Lenstra had 4 receptions for 55 yards and two touchdowns for visiting Western Dubuque (2-3, 1-2 3A-3). Blaize Cable had 14 rushes for 70 yards for Independence.
