Look past unfair media portrayal of Larson
Oct. 8, 2009 1:28 pm
The local news agencies delight in constantly deriding mayoral candidate P.T. Larson as a perennial candidate, subtly implying that he's frivolously seeking office on a lark for publicity's sake.
So, why do these news agencies constantly misrepresent the real Larson, singling him out with this caustic bias and disrespect? It's, no doubt, to keep voters from learning that Larson loves his community and its people while cherishing an overwhelming desire for serving the residents and improving the community's structure, making it attractive to new businesses.
He opposes hiring expensive outside consultants having no stake in this community. He advocates good infrastructure where streets and neighborhoods are well maintained. It's unreported that he has a strong penchant for serving the downtrodden, elderly and infirm, demonstrating this with visits, meals and transportation.
The news agencies prefer big spenders whom they can influence and manipulate. They aren't interested in a mayor having a conservative outlook, wanting nothing more than improving this community and its people's quality of life by serving all, not just the big-money interests.
Larson is a man of high morals, principles and integrity. We need his visionary leadership. Please give him a well-deserved chance for mayor and reject the more-of-the-same media picks. Let's weed out all the excessive spenders and incompetent know-it-alls while improving our city's fragrance by enabling (with your votes) this dedicated civic-minded perennial to finally blossom.
