We have the opportunity on Nov. 3 to elect a man with vision, Ron Corbett. He is a proven leader with 13 years in the Iowa Legislature, finishing as Speaker of the House. Ron has run his own business and has been president and CEO of the Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce. Currently, he is the vice president of Human Resources at CRST Inc.
Ron is a family man with a lovely wife and five adorable kids.
Cedar Rapids is not what it once was. Our city is rudderless.
Ron is running for mayor and will lead us back to prosperity. He has a plan for bringing new jobs to our community, making the streets safer for all of us, helping the citizens of the flood of 2008 and getting help to those who have fallen through the cracks. He will make sure that the local option tax we voted on will get to the people it was intended for.
All we hear from city hall is how well things are going. Do any of us really believe this? I do not. We need new leadership in the mayor's office. With Ron Corbett, there will not be analysis paralysis. He will bring action.
