Fagan understands cycling’s importance

The recent announcement of Cedar Rapids' honorable mention award as a bicycle-friendly community is a step in the right direction and one highly supported by mayoral candidate Brian Fagan. As a member of the city's Bicycle Advisory Committee, I saw how Fagan and this city council understood the importance of attaining this designation.
A community that provides transportation and recreational options sends a positive message to the business community and individuals. Cycling for recreational and commuting purposes promotes health and the environment, and it's a sign of a vibrant community where people want to live and businesses want to locate.
Fagan's foresight on how to grow this community is why I support him for mayor.
