Let’s reap benefits of dog training program

I would like to congratulate The Gazette Editorial Board for joining in the call to develop a partnership and collaboration between the Cedar Rapids Animal Shelter and the Cedar Valley Humane Society. While a merger may not be in the best interests of either organization, having a combined posting for lost and found pets would be a start.
But let's take it a step further and see if we can reap some benefits from the prisoner dog training programs. This could involved either Linn County Jail or the Corrections group. Let's have a win-win for pets and people.
