Watching Fox News distorts worldview

Regarding Daryl Mally's Oct. 22 letter “Fox News serves as counter propaganda.”
There's nothing wrong with Fox News Channel having a political point of view. What's wrong is for it to pretend to be a legitimate, objective news organization.
What is the purpose of news? To become educated. Yet studies by the University of Maryland and the Pew Research Center found that the more time someone watches Fox News Channel, the less factually accurate their worldview became. The Pew study (2007) found that regular Fox viewers were three times more likely to hold misperceptions about basic facts than viewers of the next nearest network (www.tinyurl.com/6knn6k).
As a journalist, can you imagine hearing anything worse than that the more people consume your product, the less they know?
