Something scary on Halloween night

Already, it gets dark early enough in the evening for me, but come Sunday, Nov. 1, night will fall an hour earlier as Daylight Saving Time ends. Remember to set your clocks back (fall back) one hour before you go to bed on Saturday, Oct. 31 – Halloween night. This year, 2009, will be the earliest standard time can begin, because it starts at 2 a.m. the first Sunday in November. You get an extra hour of sleep in the fall, but I'd trade that for an “extra” hour of daylight.
Some studies have shown that Daylight Saving Time (or Daylight Savings Time, as many people say) conserves energy – about 1 percent per day - because less electricity is used for lighting and appliances. Changing times every fall and spring (it switches back the second Sunday in March) can be disruptive to sleep cycles, so my preference would be year-round Daylight Saving Time. What do you think?
