The Walkthrough -- Indiana

-- QB Ricky Stanzi is standing on the 30, wearing his Nike undergear, tossing a ball with freshman QB James Vandenberg, who's got black tube socks pulled up to his knees and a black Hawkeye stocking cap. This is why Stanzi is the starter. Cuz' he's impervious to the cold.
QB John Wienke is wearing a black longsleeve shirt. This kid has tree-trunk legs.
We'll go until 10:30 here and then move over to the chat.
Indiana players are out. They're practicing their Reggie Bush flips into the end zone. That seems a little presumptious to me.
-- Talked to Hazelwood Central coach Richard Nixon this week. He coached Marvin McNutt in high school.
To say he's high on Marvin is a little bit of an understatement.
"This sums up his high school career: Week six of his junior year, he steps in week 6 as the starting quarterback and takes his team to the championship game. The next year, he is 9-1 as the starting quarterback and has a great senior year on the field as a leader. He crosses over to the basketball floor and steps up and hits a shot that's about 6 feet outside the arc in a district championship game, with seconds on the clock, knocks it down to put his team up by one and send them to the state playoffs.
"As soon as basketball is over, my man switches over to baseball. While on the diamond, in what would be the quarterfinals to put the baseball team in the final four, Marvin steps up to the plate with the bases juiced and hits four-run bomb to take a one-run lead and win the game. That's just a testament to that kid and his ability. He's truly a blessed young man and has a great attitude.
"On the football field, he's got the ball in his hand, great things happened. On the basketball court, he made plays happen in clutch. He gets on the baseball diamond, he can get on the mound or he can hit for power. He's shown that in practice and up there.
"He got an opportunity where they looked his way with the game on the line. He's just a clutch kid."
-- Specialists on the field now. K Daniel Murray was trying 13-yarders. He made them.
Sophomore Trent Mossbrucker is dressed again this week. If he never kicks this season, he can take a redshirt and be a sophomore again next year, which would be Murray's senior year. BTW, remember that Murray had trouble getting height on his kicks last week. He's trying 43-yarders right now. So far, 1 for 2, with the miss being low and left.
-- WR Colin Sandeman is not dressed. S Brett Greenwood is out there and ready to roll.
-- True freshman WR Jordan Cotton is dressed. Doesn't really mean anything, though. They dress freshmen, and a lot of them, for home games.
-- Both true frosh running backs, Brad Rogers and Josh Brown, are dressed.
-- Getting ready for team.
-- Keenan Davis running with No. 1s just before team.
-- DJK and Stross are starters. Wegher is starting, as you'd think. Brett Greenwood is starting.
-- O-Line is Bulaga, Reiff, Eubanks, Vandervelde and Calloway.
-- Second team OL is Haganman, Gettis, Koeppel, Doering and Zusevics. Paki is No. 2 RB.
That's team. Let's go to chat.
