Des Moines police say they have arrested a suspect in connection with the robberies of two banks.
Police say 50-year-old Ray Edward Lee was arrested Monday after he was spotted getting into an auto with two other men. Investigators say they followed the car until it stopped, which is when Lee got out and ran off. He was caught a short time later.
Police said Lee is a suspect in the robbery last week of two U.S. Bank offices. They decline to give details on what led them to the suspect.
Authorities say Lee has a history of robbing banks and has served an 11-year prison sentence. He is still on probation in connection with that case.
