Tuesday Talk -- Video Version
Marc Morehouse
Nov. 10, 2009 2:48 pm
Apparently, Angerer did force QB James Vandenberg to tap out in the basement of his apartment. I guess they wrestle or MMA or something. Gotta say, that takes guts on Vandenberg's part. The exchange as JV left the press area: PA "You know I kicked your [bleep]. You told them that, right?" JV: "I told them that wasn't quite the truth." Angerer got him good though. Said, "You should see him with his shirt off." Not exactly an endorsement.
This one has a little more depth to it. Vandenberg talks about how his life has changed and his Saturday night and Sunday. He moved up the food chain this week, if you haven't heard.
The Iowa O-tackle talks about the perception that Iowa's O-line has underachieved this season and the challenge that awaits the group at Ohio State.
The Iowa center talks about the perception that Iowa's O-line has underacheived this season. He offers Iowa's 9-1 record as evidence of it being OK. He also talks about the holding penalty from last week.
The last time the Iowa quarterback showed up for a Tuesday press conference, the Gazette's Scott Dochterman was the only one to talk to him. This week, he was center stage, spinning yarns and talking Ohio State.
The Iowa tight end talks about what teams have been doing to him. Here's a hint: It includes a linebacker, safety and corner. Basically triple teamed.
The senior safety talks about the challenge that Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor brings to the Hawkeyes on Saturday. Kirk Ferentz joked that he might have to find a scout-team Pryor from the Chicago Bulls.
Iowa quarterbacks Ricky Stanzi (12) and James Vandenberg (16) pose for photographs during the team's annual media day Friday, Aug. 7, 2009 at the Kenyon Football Practice Facility on the UI campus in Iowa City. (Brian Ray/The Gazette)
