Swore didn’t deserve vote; Prosser an asset
The Gazette Opinion Staff

When my wife and I voted Nov. 3 for Chuck Swore to be on the Cedar Rapids City Council, we thought Mr. Swore was a thoughtful, well-grounded candidate with many ideas about how to help Cedar Rapids. Rick Smith's Nov. 8 story tells us that we've been duped and we wish it were possible to take back our vote.
Jim Prosser has proved to be one of our greatest assets. He has kept the city going during the flood recovery. He contributes greatly to plans for our recovery and the city's future; the Gazette article about the medical center makes note of the fact that Mr. Prosser was instrumental in making sure the center will be in Cedar Rapids' core.
Prosser has no power and wants no power other than that given by the city council.
