Hawkeyes lineup for Iowa City Duals

Iowa has released its potential lineup for the Iowa City Duals - The Hawkeyes season opener. Top-ranked Iowa will face Coe, Cornell, Iowa Lakes, UNC-Pembroke and SIU-Edwardsville at Carver-Hawkeye Arena with the first round beginning at 10:30 a.m. and the final dual set for approximately 5 p.m.

The Hawkeyes begin the season looking to extend their 38-dual win streak, including 14 straight at CHA. A possible sweep of the five duals will increase the streak to 43 duals, which would eclipse the old school record of 42 set from 1994 to 1997.

Nothing too surprising here. Obviously, for now, Dan LeClere is the man at 141. The spot is his to hold, even with Joe Slaton and Montell Marion waiting in the wings for the Midlands to straighten things out. Also, no listing of Derek St. John at 157. Aaron Janssen, Jake Kerr and Matt Ballweg are down. Likely, St. John, who did do well last weekend placing third at the harold Nichols Open in Ames, will get more experience before making a decision on whether or not he'll shed a red-shirt. After Midlands is when you can find a definite decision to be made.
