The Walkthrough -- Minnesota

Stanzi sighting -- Iowa QB Ricky Stanzi, less than two weeks removed from ankle surgery, is out on the field right now playing catch with Jayme Murphy, the Iowa special teamer who missed the entire season with concussion and back issues.

No boot or crutches on Stanzi, but he can't plant on that right foot, the one he suffered a high-ankle sprain on vs. Northwestern.

By the looks of things, I'd say a bowl return is very possible and probably probable.

BTW, freshman QB James Vandenberg was out in a short sleeved Nike dri-fit. He's put together a little better than you might think.

Trophy game -- Yes, there's Floyd of Rosedale. But there's another trophy at Kinnick today, just in case.

The Big Ten Conference has shipped a championship trophy to Kinnick for today's game. If Ohio State (6-1 Big Ten) loses at Michigan today, the Hawkeyes (5-2) would claim a share of the Big Ten championship. Penn State (5-2) could also win a share with a victory at Michigan State and an Ohio State loss. A trophy is in East Lansing, too.

No Fiesta -- The Fiesta Bowl did not make it to the Kinnick press box. Gary Dolphin said during the Kirk Ferentz radio show that the bowl would be in IC today.

Iowa's bowl destination might not be confirmed until around Dec. 6, so hang tight.

Last game of the season -- The Hawkeyes will indeed play the Saturday after Thanksgiving next season. The Iowa-Minnesota game is scheduled for Nov. 27 next season.

Tarpinian out -- LB Jeff Tarpinian is out for today's game. He had a knee injury and was questionable going into the game. He replaced LB Jeremiha Hunter, who missed most of the second half in last week's defeat at Ohio State. Hunter unjured an ankle.

Junior Troy Johnson replaced Tarpinian.

KF Radio: RBs Brandon Wegher and Adam Robinson are goes today.

Team -- Tarpinian starts. WR Trey Stross, whose Facebook apology was a news item this week, starts.

The OL is the same, Bulaga, Reiff, Eubanks, Vandervelde, Calloway. Wegher is out with the second team. Second OL is Zusevics, Doering, Koeppel, Gettis and Haganman.
