God gave us freedom to follow or not

I would like to reply to the Nov. 16 letter, “Evolution is a fairy tale for grown-ups,” by Aaron Rivera.
Aaron, you have to ask your God a question: Do I need a reason forced upon me to believe in you?
By that I mean, if there was a way for our existence to be explained without a God, would there still be Christians or any other religious group? Yes, there would still be religious individuals. I believe in evolution and Christ.
There is nothing wrong with assuming God gave the world history. Did the first trees have no rings? Did the light from stars not reach Earth?
We know for a fact evolution exists, we've seen it over the years in viruses and bacteria. Evolution has done an amazing job in helping categorizing life on Earth.
God gave the universe a history, the Earth a history and life a history.
You're right, though. Evolution has been used to further evil agendas, just like the word of God has. For some, evolution is atheism - they only believed because they feared. God wants us to love (believe) in him for what he stands for. Else he would show himself to all humans, thus forcing belief in him.
You're wrong, though; it's insane to believe in the supernatural. Especially when there is hard evidence that says otherwise. He created us free and even has given us ways to prove he is not needed. We are truly free to follow or not follow his great wisdom.
