Push ahead for affordable health care
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Nov. 21, 2009 11:17 pm
I want to add my voice to those of other Iowans who are so eager for serious and meaningful health care reform. President Obama's campaign commitment to good health care legislation is within reach.
It is a challenging task, and my hat is off to the members of the House of Representatives, particularly our own member of Congress, Rep. David Loebsack. They have worked hard to achieve a good bill.
I encourage Sen. Chuck Grassley to do all he can to ensure that all Iowans have access to affordable health care. Sen. Tom Harkin is to be congratulated for his stalwart support of reform.
That this is a difficult task is understood; were it easy, we would have accomplished it already.
