On The Second Day of Christmas ...

... continuing my promised list of unique holiday gifts in the vein of "The Twelve Days of Christmas," with one a day for the next 12 days, may I suggest, for Mom, an "egg plant"
Now, I'm not talking about an eggplant, but an egg shaped planter from First Street for Boomers and Beyond (click here) that offers these unique planters for $12.95.
Here's what it say about them:
Everything you need to hatch a garden comes in these neat little eggshells.
This is the cutest way to grow a garden since Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary - but there's nothing contrary about an Egg Plant. It's so easy. Gently tap the top with a spoon and crack open the egg, add water, and the fortified peat mixture and seeds already inside are ready to go, ready to grow. Eggs Plants contain enough nutrients for plants to grow in the white bisque shell for up to five months. When they outgrow the shell, transplant directly into the soil or a larger pot, shattering the shell into small pieces to become fertilizer in the surrounding soil. Please specify petunias, mint, basil, wild strawberry, or lavender.
