HELPFUL MAP: Iowa City residents have a new tool to track police calls. Police created an online map that tracks all calls for service in each city neighborhood for the past 30 days. Try it at www.icgov.org/default/apps/police/
neighborhood.asp This should help people get a clearer understanding of police response and what types of violations and crimes occur in their neighborhoods.

SALUTES: BRAVO awards from the Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce annually go to homegrown businesses in the Corridor to honor their success and community commitment. This year's winners: CRST International, trucking firm; Informatics, a Web site design firm; Van Meter Industrial, electrical/communications equipment distributor; Serve the City, an ecumenical faith and volunteer service group; and JumpStart, a flood relief program.

HONOR: A Hiawatha soldier, Sgt. Salvatore Giunta, has been nominated for the highest military honor - the Medal of Honor. If selected, he would join fewer than 3,500 who have been honored since the Civil War. The award was born from a bill introduced in 1861 by Sen. James W. Grimes of Iowa.
