Plenty of City Hall open houses this week -- one on trails, two on urban design
Dec. 7, 2009 9:27 am
City Hall will hold two different open houses this week -- one on trails, one on urban design principles.
Both events will be held in the The Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Five Seasons Hotel.
The open house on trails, from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Monday), will ask the public to weigh in on the city's current and future trails needs as the city works to develop at Comprehensive Trails Master Plan.
The target is to one day provide a trail segment no more than a half mile or five minutes away from every Cedar Rapids resident.
The open house on urban design principles will be held twice, from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and again from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
These open houses on urban design are the first of a series of three that will take place over five months.
The Tuesday and Wednesday open house also will provide an update on the city's neighborhood revitalization action plans. This planning activity is an outgrowth of four months of meetings and open houses earlier this year.
