People attribute their beliefs to God
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Dec. 9, 2009 11:57 pm
Religious people say their belief in God functions as a moral compass, instructing them on what to believe. A new study published in the Nov. 30 edition of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, however, suggests that it's just the opposite - people attribute what they already believe to God.
Or in other words, loving people have loving gods, hateful people have hateful gods, kind people have kind gods and cruel people have cruel gods. I have suspected as much by reading letters from various religious people published in The Gazette.
